Does anyone know a Corgi-registered gas fitter who'll cover Glasgow?

The post-Whitby disaster was our boiler deciding to die (or at least fall into a deep coma) and I am having no joy at all getting it sorted. First no-one wanted the job. Finally managed to arrange for someone to come out. He said we probably needed a new boiler then rather half-heartedly tried a new thermocouple (that being what went wrong last time it did this. It's an old boiler) then decided it was the gas valve that had failed. He called later in the day to say the part was obsolete and we needed a new boiler. Processing home insurance claims for a living has made me just a *little* wary of tradesmen even if he hadn't already put me on guard so I checked with the supplier and then with a local plumbing supply company. Not only not obsolete but sitting on the shelf.

So it's back to square one. Any recommendations gratefully accepted.
