Grading Guidelines

We use a five star grading system, with our own in-built caveats and modifications:

***** Unsurprisingly, that's a rather good film. The gold standard is usually "would I watch it again?". But also, the occasional dark or grim film that evokes a stunned response of "that was excellent - I never want to see it again" often ends up with *****.

**** Still good

*** Middle of the road. Not terrible, and not great - dead average.

** The gold standard for a ** rating is that I got bored, went for a toilet break and took my time purely because I needed a break.

I Aten't Ded

Like the title says, I aten't ded.

I was at Bicon this weekend, where there were various folk who still use DW - and it gave me an idea.

I used to use JournalFen (RIP) to keep lists of all the films T.E.P. and I went to see with our Cineworld Unlimited cards. I had a WordPress as a back-up, which was just as well when JF went tits up. And for the last couple of years I've been occasionally thinking that our back-up was now primary and didn't have a back-up. It's rare that there's any more comment than a star rating, but it is important to us to have the record.

And so here we are. I suspect there will continue to be very little but the titles, but that's what's important.
