Today I started my new job (dan da da da da daaaaaaah!).

On the whole it went pretty much as expected after last week's confusion and disorder. Today started with a phone call from my new employers at 0830(!) asking could I come in at 0900 instead of 0930(ahem) because Friday's confirmation of stuff being received didn't make it through to the actual place I'll be working and they want me to sign up as a temp until they get the missing stuff through.... I got there as early as possible - and then sat in the canteen waiting for something to happen until well after the original start time .

Then there was various stuff intended to make people talk to each other. These things *can* be amusing - I once got to play with Lego as part of one and Lego is definitely A Good Thing, and another time (in a "you're trapped in a blizzard with a list of stuff - what will you do?"-type thing) one guy responded with "personally I'd use the shotgun to shoot you all 'cos you're stupid and I'll survive longer without you". I don't know the people he was working with but I suspect I'd find it hard to disagree with the sentiment... Today's wasn't so entertaining, though.

Still the rest of the day wasn't too bad - actual job probably going to be bearable, probably not working Christmas or New Year as they are (apparently) closed Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues (weird - I usually work either one or both. Won't know what to do with myself...) plus paid Christmas "do" with meal and (mostly) free bar. I don't normally go to work nights out but I may do so on general principles (free stuff!).

Oh, and I forgot to mention when discussing the prostitution question - for the third time I'm working in (a call-centre in) Glasgow's red-light area .
