Today has been rather uncomfortably warm so I have imitated the example of the tiger. I left my lair while the shadows were still long on the ground and made my way to a watering place. I spent all the hottest part of the day alternately basking in the shade and swimming lazily in cold, cold water until evening began to approach. I then made my way forth to hunt, and came across several plums, a nectarine and an avocado, all drowsy and unwary in the heat and deliciously ripe for the catching. I devoured my prey sprawled on the grass in the shade of a cherry tree, then lay reading for a while surrounded by the skins and seeds of my victims. And when the downright excessive heat of the day was exchanged for the pleasant coolth of evening I made my way home along the river and back to my lair. Very pleasant all round.
